Senior Compliance Technician – Corporate Office
Purpose: Responsible for managing housing compliance information, overseeing property housing compliance status, and managing owner and vendor requests. Manage Compliance Technicians. Manage applicant and resident files through certification and re-certification process. Assist Manager with training, manual updates and program forms.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review site resident files for approval, and notify site of corrections, if applicable.
- Assist site staff with certification and re-certification process.
- Track re-certifications and follow-up with outstanding items.
- Update Housing Tax Credit (HTC) with Tenant Income Certification (TIC) and demographic information.
- Prepare required reporting for HTC and Housing Opportunities Made Equal (HOME), etc.
- Review applicable fraction spreadsheets.
- Perform quarterly site resident file audits.
- Assist site staff in preparation for site inspections from outside entities.
- Remit Tenant Rental Assistance System (TRACS) and Housing Assistance Payments (HAP).
- Complete monthly compliance testing.
- Assist Manager with monthly New Hire Training sessions.
- Assist Manager with site staff training.
- Assist site staff with unresolved resident compliance related issues.
- Assist Accounting Department with outstanding rent payment issues.
- Assist Manager with updating utility allowances, rent increases, and income/rent limits.
- Assist Manager with updating training, compliance manuals and program forms.
- Assist Manager with creation or updates of policy and procedures.
- Assist Manager with new property set-up in property management software program, Yardi Systems.
- Assist Manager with resolution of Yardi issues.
Non-Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum three years’ work experience including three multi-layered compliance programs, including one Tax Credit program and Section 8, desired
- Industry compliance certifications, desired
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organization/ planning skills, with ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to work with confidential information
Strong, intermediate computer skills, including experience w/Microsoft Office applications
